Bott Hypothesis
Bott Hypothesis - The Daily Concept
The Bott Hypothesis was first formulated in a work from 1957 titled Family and Social Networks by Elizabeth Bott . This hypothesis states that the more interconnected are the separate social networks of the husband and wife the more marital roles are segregated. In other words, external close-knit social networks provide the spouses with assistance and emotional support outside the couple lessening conjugal interdependence and creating a more segregated role organization.
